The Honest Truth

We believe in being upfront about what this job involves

What makes it challenging

  • It's physically demanding — you'll be lifting heavy items daily. Sofas, fridges, bags of rubble.
  • British weather doesn't take days off — you'll work in rain, cold, and heat.
  • Some clearances are unpleasant — hoarded houses, rotting food waste, dirty gardens. It's not always glamorous.
  • Hours aren't fixed — your start and finish times depend on the jobs allocated. Flexibility is essential.
  • You're responsible for the van — keeping it clean, fuelled, and roadworthy.

What makes it great

  • You're paid from the moment you leave your house to the moment you get home. No unpaid commute.
  • The van stays at your home — no depot trips, no fighting for parking at a yard.
  • Freedom — you're on the road, managing your own day. No office politics, no one hovering.
  • Overtime is always available and always paid. Most drivers earn well above base.
  • You're part of a proper company — 300+ staff, 120+ vans, pension, career progression.
  • Every day is different — different locations, different jobs, different people.
